Brazil: Pig slaughter grows in third quarter of 2021

Pork production grew by 8.5% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

According to data from the first livestock production statistics, published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Brazil's swine slaughter grew by 7.6% in the third quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020. Compared to the second quarter of this year, there was a 5.1% increase in slaughter.

Pork production grew compared to the same quarter of the previous year (+8.5%) and compared to the immediately preceding quarter (+4.5%), totaling 1.27 million tons.
