This is part of the strategy announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development for the next months, that includes a trip to the Assembly of Delegates of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE/WOAH) that will be held in Paris (France) from May 26th to 31st.
“We want to explain to the President of the WOAH/OIE, Ms Monique Eliot, the progress in the eradication policy, and the focusing of efforts and resources so the country can recover the foot-and-mouth disease-free status, as of next August, if possible”, said the Minister, Mr Valencia Pinzón.
The Minister has launched two vaccination cycles against foot-and-mouth disease and brucellosis between 2018 and 2019, as well as a revaccination cycle in early 2019, that is also a requirement made by the WOAH/OIE with the aim of keeping high protection levels for cattle and buffaloes.
